Current Sermon
Genesis 18:1-8
The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day. 2 Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground.
3 He said, “If I have found favor in your eyes, my lord, do not pass your servant by. 4 Let a little water be brought, and then you may all wash your feet and rest under this tree. 5 Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and then go on your way—now that you have come to your servant.”
“Very well,” they answered, “do as you say.”
6 So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah. “Quick,” he said, “get three seahs of the finest flour and knead it and bake some bread.”
7 Then he ran to the herd and selected a choice, tender calf and gave it to a servant, who hurried to prepare it. 8 He then brought some curds and milk and the calf that had been prepared, and set these before them. While they ate, he stood near them under a tree.

This week’s worship.
Higher Ground Summer Camp is here!
This Sunday morning, 30+ Ekklesians (including youth, leaders and parents) make their way to eastern Tenessee for Higher Ground Summer Camp. Here are a few things you can pray for!!
- Safety. As you can imagine, there are a lot of “moving-parts” with a youth summer camp. Pray for the safety of our campers and workers!
- Spirit. More than anything, we want our campers to encounter God! Pray that Jesus’ Kingdom would meet with us in a powerful way!
- Fun! All campers (and leaders) enter this week with a unique set of joys and heartaches. Ask that moments of sheer joy and delight would break through.
Post-Church Community Cookout!
I was reminded recently that an accusation frequently leveled against Jesus was how he “ate” with outsiders. Eating with someone was political. It was a way of saying YOU BELONG! For some in Jesus day, they didn’t agree with his choice of dinner guests.
If eating is still a way of saying YOU BELONG, we are letting our neighbors know with resounding clarity that this Independence Day weekend, they belong! WE BELONG TOGETHER. And so, please join us immediately after worship TODAY for food and fellowship with our ADHS neighbors!
New Morning Monthly Women’s Group
The vision: a chance to get together (kids included!), talk, laugh and make a meal to bring to someone who needs it. Mick Schulte will host / lead and create a sign up list of the ingredients needed. This is for ALL women (not just moms). Starts July 18th. Contact Mick for more info.
Save the Date: August 26 — Tropical Party!
