Wisdom is Calling, but No One is Listening
Sing My Love - Lyrics
Sing My Love
Words could never say
the way He says my name
He calls me lovely
No one ever sees
the way He looks at me
He sees me holy
Words could never hold
this love that burns my soul
Heaven holds me
Oh Heaven holds me
I can’t hold my love back from you
I can’t hold my love back from you
I’ve gotta sing – I’ve gotta sing
Sing my love
You would not believe
the way He touches me
He burns right through me
And I could not forget
every word He said
He always knew me
The earth could never hold
this love that burns my soul
Heaven holds me
Oh Heaven holds me
I can’t hold my love back from you
I can’t hold my love back from you
I’ve gotta sing – I’ve gotta sing
Sing my love
Words could never say
the way He says my name
He calls me lovely
No one ever sees
the way He looks at me
He sees me holy
Words could never hold
this love that burns my soul
Heaven holds me
Oh Heaven holds me
I can’t hold my love back from you
I can’t hold my love back from you
I’ve gotta sing – I’ve gotta sing
Sing my love
I can’t hold my love back from you
I can’t hold my love back from you
I’ve gotta sing – I’ve gotta sing
Sing my love
Loving Kind - Lyrics
Loving Kind
It’s been awhile since
I felt You near to me
And all I hold is the vagueness
of Your memory
Why did I roam so far from You, oh Lord?
I had You right inside
the center of my heart
And I took You for granted but
You al-ways stay by my side
You always answer my cry
And when I fall You catch me
‘Cause You are the loving kind
So take me into Your
loving arms again
‘Cause I’m so tired of
dancing with my sin
Why did I roam so far from You, oh Lord?
I had You right inside
the center of my heart
And I took You for granted but
You al-ways stay by my side
You always answer my cry
And when I fall You catch me
‘Cause You are the loving kind
You al-ways stay by my side
You always answer my cry
And when I fall You catch me
‘Cause You are the loving kind
‘Cause You are the loving kind
New Name - Lyrics
New Name
You’ve given me a new name
You’ve set me in a family
You pulled me out of my pain
You’re never walking out on me
You’ve given me a new name
You’ve told me that you love me
You set me in a safe place
Where you are my security
You’re singing over me
You’re singing over me
You’re singing over me
The song of love
This is my new name
This is where you brought me
I’m living in a wild place
Where you’re making me a masterpiece
You’re singing over me
You’re singing over me
You’re singing over me
The song of love
This is my story
This is my song
This is my perfect father’s love
(repeat 4x)
Thank you for my new name
Thank you for my family
I could never repay
A love that gave it all for me
You’re singing over me
You’re singing over me
You’re singing over me
The song of love
This is my story
This is my song
This is my perfect father’s love
(repeat 4x)
You’re singing over me
You’re singing over me
You’re singing over me
The song of love
Old Testament Readings
Proverbs 8:1-4, 22-31
Does not wisdom call,
and does not understanding raise her voice?
2 On the heights, beside the way,
at the crossroads she takes her stand;
3 beside the gates in front of the town,
at the entrance of the portals she cries out:
4 ‘To you, O people, I call,
and my cry is to all that live.
22 The Lord created me at the beginning of his work,
the first of his acts of long ago.
23 Ages ago I was set up,
at the first, before the beginning of the earth.
24 When there were no depths I was brought forth,
when there were no springs abounding with water.
25 Before the mountains had been shaped,
before the hills, I was brought forth—
26 when he had not yet made earth and fields,
or the world’s first bits of soil.
27 When he established the heavens, I was there,
when he drew a circle on the face of the deep,
28 when he made firm the skies above,
when he established the fountains of the deep,
29 when he assigned to the sea its limit,
so that the waters might not transgress his command,
when he marked out the foundations of the earth,
30 then I was beside him, like a master worker;
and I was daily his delight,
rejoicing before him always,
31 rejoicing in his inhabited world
and delighting in the human race.
Psalm 8
1 O Lord, our Sovereign,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.
2 Out of the mouths of babes and infants
you have founded a bulwark because of your foes,
to silence the enemy and the avenger.
3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars that you have established;
4 what are human beings that you are mindful of them,
mortals that you care for them?
5 Yet you have made them a little lower than God,
and crowned them with glory and honour.
6 You have given them dominion over the works of your hands;
you have put all things under their feet,
7 all sheep and oxen,
and also the beasts of the field,
8 the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea,
whatever passes along the paths of the seas.
9 O Lord, our Sovereign,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
Everyone: Thanks be to God.
Sails - Lyrics
Sails
Falling is easy
Staying in love is hard
Hard to be honest
And keep your heart open
To be who we truly are
Without the excuses
Without the facade
There’s no pretending
Here in Your love
Oh Lord, set me free
Oh Lord, set me free
I’m finally seeing
You were here all along
Your love wasn’t absent
No, it doesn’t come or go
The image I’ve had
Is starting to fail
You’re patient with me
Lifting the veil
Oh Lord, set me free
Oh Lord, set me free
Oh Lord, set me free
Oh Lord, set me free
I let out the sails of my heart
Here I am, here You are
(repeat)
Oh Lord, set me free
Oh Lord, set me free
New Testament Readings
Romans 5:1-5
5 Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.
John 16:12-15
12 ‘I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own, but will speak whatever he hears, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. 14 He will glorify me, because he will take what is mine and declare it to you. 15 All that the Father has is mine. For this reason I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.
Everyone: Thanks be to God.
THREE PRAYERS
A prayer for our Confirmation Bias:
Source of all truth,
help me to hunger for truth,
even if it upsets, modifies or overturns
what I already think is true.
Guide me into all the truth I can bear.
And stretch me to bear more,
so that I may always choose the whole truth,
even with disruption,
over half truths with self-deception.
Grant me passion to follow wisdom wherever it leads. Amen.
A prayer for our Contact Bias:
Revealer of insight,
do not let me be satisfied to see
only what is visible from my limited perspective.
Grant me an insatiable curiosity
to understand what my neighbors
can see from their different vantage points.
Help me draw near to them,
to walk with them,
to see through their eyes,
hear through their ears
and to feel through their experience,
so our shared horizons will be broadened. Amen.
A prayer for our Community Bias:
Inspirer of holy boldness and humble bravery,
give me the humility to learn from my community
along with the courage to differ graciously from my community,
seeking truth even when my companions
are unwilling to see it or accept it.
Help me remain humbly loyal to the truth
even when I am misjudged and rejected
by my community for doing so.
Amen.
God Will Heal Our Wounds - Lyrics
God Will Heal Our Wounds
We want to seek you in our own ways
We’ll fast and we’ll sing
we’ll give for our gain
You’re telling us that it’s not ok
You don’t need another song
You don’t want our empty praise
If we stop loving on our own terms
God will heal our wounds
God will heal our wounds
If we stop loving on our own terms
Grace will lead us home
Grace will lead us home
We want the blessing of the God we made
To live in the privilege
he’ll do what we say
You’re telling us there’s a different way
To seek less for ourselves
to pour out every day
If we stop loving on our own terms
God will heal our wounds
God will heal our wounds
If we stop loving on our own terms
Grace will lead us home
Grace will lead us home
Home, home, home
home where the fasting that you seek
Is breaking chains, breaking free
Home, home, home
home where the songs that we sing
Move the ground underneath
Home, home, home
home where the worship that you seek
Feeds the hungry, the ones in need
Home, home, home
home where love that we seek
Is growing gardens, fixing streets
Is growing bridges, planting trees
Is digging wells for all to drink
Is finding light for us to see
Is building trust between you and me
Is building strength and family
If we stop loving on our own terms
God will heal our wounds
God will heal our wounds
If we stop loving on our own terms
Grace will lead us home
Grace will lead us home
