Abundance – Part Three
Parable of the Talents

Oh How I Need You - Lyrics

Oh How I Need You

Lord I find You in the seeking
Lord I find You in the doubt
And to know You is to love You
And to know so little else

Lord I find You in the seeking
Lord I find You in the doubt
And to know You is to love You
And to know so little else

I need You – Oh how I need You
Oh how I need You
Oh how I need You

Lord I find You in the morning
Lord I seek You every Day
Let my life be for Your glory
Woven in Your threads of grace

I need You – Oh how I need You
Oh how I need You
Oh how I need You

Light glorious Light
I will go where You shine
Break the dawn crack the skies
Make the way bright before me
In Your light I will find
And I need – all I need is You

Light glorious Light
I will go where You shine
Break the dawn crack the skies
Make the way bright before me
In Your light I will find
And I need – all I need is You

Oh how I need You
Oh how I need You
Oh how I need You
Oh how I need You
(repeat)

Great Are You Lord - Lyrics

Great Are You Lord

You give life, You are love
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope, You restore
Every heart that is broken
Great are You, Lord

It’s Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise
We pour out our praise
It’s Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to You only

You give life, You are love
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope, You restore
Every heart that is broken
Great are You, Lord

It’s Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise
We pour out our praise
It’s Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to You only

It’s Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise
We pour out our praise
It’s Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to You only

All the earth will shout Your praise
Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing
“Great are You, Lord”

All the earth will shout Your praise
Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing
“Great are You, Lord”

All the earth will shout Your praise
Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing
“Great are You, Lord”

It’s Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise
We pour out our praise
It’s Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to You only

It’s Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise
We pour out our praise
It’s Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to You only

The Kingdom is Yours - Lyrics

The Kingdom is Yours

Blessed are the ones who do not bury
All the broken pieces of their heart
Blessed are the tears of all the weary
Pouring like a sky of falling stars

Blessed are the wounded ones in mourning
Brave enough to show the Lord their scars
Blessed are the hurts that are not hidden
Open to the healing touch of God

The Kingdom is yours
The Kingdom is yours
Hold on a little more, this is not the end
Hope is in the Lord
Keep your eyes on Him

Blessed are the ones who walk in kindness
Even in the face of great abuse
Blessed are the deeds that go unnoticed
Serving with unguarded gratitude

Blessed are the ones who fight for justice
Longing for the coming day of peace
Blessed is the soul
that thirsts for righteousness
Welcoming the last, the lost, the least

The Kingdom is yours
The Kingdom is yours
Hold on a little more, this is not the end
Hope is in the Lord
Keep your eyes on Him

The Kingdom is yours
The Kingdom is yours
Hold on a little more, this is not the end
Hope is in the Lord
Keep your eyes on Him

Blessed are the ones who suffer violence
And still have strength to love their enemies
Blessed is the faith of those who persevere
Though they fall, they’ll never know defeat

The Kingdom is yours
The Kingdom is yours
Hold on a little more, this is not the end
Hope is in the Lord
Keep your eyes on Him

The Kingdom is yours
The Kingdom is yours
Hold on a little more, this is not the end
Hope is in the Lord
Keep your eyes on Him

God Will Heal Our Wounds - Lyrics

God Will Heal Our Wounds

We want to seek you in our own ways
We’ll fast and we’ll sing
we’ll give for our gain
You’re telling us that it’s not ok
You don’t need another song
You don’t want our empty praise

If we stop loving on our own terms
God will heal our wounds
God will heal our wounds
(repeat)

We want the blessing of the God we made
To live in the privilege
he’ll do what we say
You’re telling us there’s a different way
To seek less for ourselves
to pour out every day

If we stop loving on our own terms
God will heal our wounds
God will heal our wounds
(repeat)

Home, home, home
home where the fasting that you seek
Is breaking chains, breaking free
Home, home, home
home where the songs that we sing
Move the ground underneath

Home, home, home
home where the worship that you seek
Feeds the hungry, the ones in need
Home, home, home
home where love that we seek
Is growing gardens, fixing streets

Is growing bridges, planting trees
Is digging wells for all to drink
Is finding light for us to see
Is building trust between you and me
Is building strength and family

If we stop loving on our own terms
God will heal our wounds
God will heal our wounds
(repeat)

Scripture Reading

Matthew 25:14-30:
14 “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. 15 To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16 The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. 17 So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. 18 But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.

19 “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20 The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’

21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
22 “The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’

23 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

24 “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’

26 “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27 Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.

28 “‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. 29 For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 30 And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Reward vs. Responsibility
Salvation vs. Stewardship

Psalm 24 says this:
1 The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it;
2 for he founded it on the seas
and established it on the waters.

1 Corinthians 6:20:
19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Galatians 2:20:
20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

My son, were not both Bible and Mishnah spoken by the mouth of the Almighty? If so, what is the relationship between them? The distinction between them may be illustrated by a parable. To what may the matter be compared? To a mortal king who had two servants whom he loved with utter love. To one he gave a measure of wheat and to the other he gave a measure of wheat, to one a bundle of flax and to the other a bundle of flax. What did the wise one of the two do? He took the flax and wove it into the tablecloth. He took the wheat and made it into fine flour by sifting the grain first and grinding it. Then he kneaded the dough and baked it, set the loaf on the table, spread the tablecloth over it and kept it to await the coming of the king. But the foolish one of the two did not do anything to it. After many days the king came into the house and said to the servants: My sons, bring me what I gave you. One brought out the table with the loaf baked of fine flour on it and the table cloth spread over it. The other brought out his wheat in a basket with a bundle of flax over the wheat grains. What a shame! What a disgrace! Need it be said which of the two servants was more beloved? He of course who laid out the table with the loaf baked of fine flour upon it.
– Seder Eliyahu Rabbah

What is the difference between love and fear? It may be illustrated through means of a parable. To what may the matter be compared? To a king who has two servants. One loved the king and feared him. The other feared the king but did not love him. The king went into a far country. The servant who loved and feared the king, rose up to plant gardens, orchards, and all varieties of fruit. The servant who feared the king remained inactive and did nothing at all. Upon returning from the far country, the king saw the gardens, orchards, and many varieties of fruits arranged before him according to the design of the servant who loved him. When the one who loved the king came before him, he was greatly contented in correspondence to the joy of the king. But when the king entered the domain of the servant who feared him but did not love him, he saw all the desolate grounds which lay before him according to the failure of the servant who feared him. When the one who feared the king came before him, he saw all the desolate grounds which lay before him, and he was greatly distressed in accordance with the anger of the king…. Hence you learn that the reward of the one who loved the king was a double portion while the reward of the one who feared the king was only a single portion.
– Yalkut Shimeoni and Seder Eliyahu Rabbah

Proverbs 1:7:
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Matthew 7:9-11:
9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

WHO DO YOU THINK GOD IS?!?!?!?!?

Your Love Is Strong - Lyrics

Your Love Is Strong

Heavenly Father You always amaze me
Let your kingdom come
in my world and in my life
You give me the food I need
to live through the day

And forgive me as I forgive
the people that wronged me
Keep me far from temptation
Deliver me from the evil one

I look out the window
The birds are composing
Not a note is out of tune or out of place
I walk to the meadow
And stare at the flowers

Better dressed than any girl
On her wedding day
So why should I worry?
Why do I freak out?
God knows what I need
You know what I need

Your love is
Your love is
Your love is strong
(repeat 4x)

The kingdom of the heavens
is now advancing
Invade my heart Invade this broken town
The kingdom of the heavens
is buried treasure

Will you sell yourself
To buy the one you’ve found?
Two things you told me
That you are strong
And you love me Yes, you love me

Your love is
Your love is
Your love is strong
(repeat 4x)

Our God in heaven
Hallowed be Thy name above all names
Your kingdom come Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven

Give us today our daily bread
Forgive us weary sinners
Keep us far from our vices
And deliver us from these prisons

Tis So Sweet - Lyrics

Tis So Sweet

‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus
Just to take Him at His Word
Just to rest upon His promise
Just to know “Thus saith the Lord”

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus
Oh, for grace to trust Him more

Oh, how sweet to trust in Jesus
Just to trust His cleansing blood
And in simple faith to plunge me
‘Neath the healing, cleansing flood

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus
Oh, for grace to trust Him more

Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus
Oh, for grace to trust Him more

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus
Oh, for grace to trust Him more
Oh, for grace to trust Him more
Oh, for grace to trust Him more
