The Kingdom is Yours – Part Two – Blessed Are Those Who Mourn

Oh Our Lord - Lyrics

Oh Our Lord

Oh oh oh our Lord
Oh oh oh our Lord
How majestic is Your name
in all the Earth

We behold the breaking dawn
The light that shines over everyone
We look to You
We long for You oh Lord

We behold the rising sun
The earth awakes Your hope has come
We look to You
We long for You oh Lord

Oh oh oh our Lord
Oh oh oh our Lord
How majestic is Your name
in all the Earth

We behold the falling rain
Like waters rise – flood this place
We reach for You
We cling to You oh Lord

Oh oh oh our Lord
Oh oh oh our Lord
How majestic is Your name
in all the Earth

Oh oh oh our Lord
Oh oh oh our Lord
How majestic is Your name
in all the Earth

Oh Your name is a light in the darkness
Oh Your name is the word of truth
Oh Your name – Oh Your name
(repeat x3)

Oh oh oh our Lord
Oh oh oh our Lord
How majestic is Your name
in all the Earth

Oh oh oh our Lord
Oh oh oh our Lord
How majestic is Your name
in all the Earth

We behold the breaking dawn
The light that shines over everyone
We look to You
We long for You oh Lord

We behold the rising sun
The earth awakes Your hope has come
We look to You
We long for You oh Lord

Oh oh oh our Lord
Oh oh oh our Lord
How majestic is Your name
in all the Earth

Oh oh oh our Lord
Oh oh oh our Lord
How majestic is Your name
in all the Earth

Reckless Love - Lyrics

Reckless Love

Before I spoke a word
You were singing over me
You have been so, so good to me
Before I took a breath
You breathed Your life in me
You have been so, so kind to me

Oh, the overwhelming
neverending reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down
fights ’til I’m found
leaves the ninety-nine

I couldn’t earn it
and I don’t deserve it
still You give Yourself away
Oh, the overwhelming
neverending, reckless love of God

When I was Your foe
still Your love fought for me
You have been so, so good to me
When I felt no worth, You paid it all for me
You have been so, so kind to me

Oh, the overwhelming
neverending reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down
fights ’til I’m found
leaves the ninety-nine

I couldn’t earn it
and I don’t deserve it
still You give Yourself away
Oh, the overwhelming
neverending, reckless love of God

There’s no shadow You won’t light up
Mountain You won’t climb up
Coming after me
There’s no wall You won’t kick down
Lie You won’t tear down
Coming after me

There’s no shadow You won’t light up
Mountain You won’t climb up
Coming after me
There’s no wall You won’t kick down
Lie You won’t tear down
Coming after me

There’s no shadow You won’t light up
Mountain You won’t climb up
Coming after me
There’s no wall You won’t kick down
Lie You won’t tear down
Coming after me

There’s no shadow You won’t light up
Mountain You won’t climb up
Coming after me
There’s no wall You won’t kick down
Lie You won’t tear down
Coming after me

Oh, the overwhelming
neverending reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down
fights ’til I’m found
leaves the ninety-nine

I couldn’t earn it
and I don’t deserve it
still You give Yourself away
Oh, the overwhelming
neverending, reckless love of God

The Lord turn His face toward you
and give you peace

Amen, amen, amen
Amen, amen, amen

May His favor be upon you
And a thousand generations
Your family and your children

And behind you, and beside you
All around you, and within you

Nothing Holding Me Back - Lyrics

Nothing Holding Me Back

Thank You for the cross
that You have carried
Thank You for Your blood that was shed
You took the weight of sin
upon Your shoulders
And Sacrificed Your life so I could live

Thank You for the cross
that You have carried
Thank You for Your blood that was shed
You took the weight of sin
upon Your shoulders
And Sacrificed Your life so I could live

Now nothing is holding me back from You
Redeemer of my soul
Now nothing can hold me back from You
Your Love will never let me go

Thank You for Your death and resurrection
Thank You for the power of Your blood
I am overwhelmed by Your affection
The Kindness and the Greatness of Your Love
The Kindness and the Greatness of Your Love

Now nothing is holding me back from You
Redeemer of my soul
Now nothing can hold me back from You
Your Love will never let me go

Oh Jesus You make all things new
Oh Jesus You make all things new
Oh Jesus You make all things new
Oh Jesus You make all things new

Thank You that we’re living in Your Kingdom
Jesus You’re the King upon the throne
Thank You for the way You always love me
Now I get to love You in return
Now I get to love You in return

Scripture Readings from Matthew 5 and Luke 23

Matthew 5:1-10

Matthew 5:1-10. When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2 and he began to teach them. He said: 3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Luke 23:33-47

33 When they came to a place called The Skull, they nailed him to the cross. And the criminals were also crucified—one on his right and one on his left. 34 Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” And the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice.

35 The crowd watched and the leaders scoffed. “He saved others,” they said, “let him save himself if he is really God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.” 36 The soldiers mocked him, too, by offering him a drink of sour wine. 37 They called out to him, “If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!” 38 A sign was fastened above him with these words: “This is the King of the Jews.”

39 One of the criminals hanging beside him scoffed, “So you’re the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving yourself—and us, too, while you’re at it!” 40 But the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die? 41 We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.” 42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”

43 And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.” 44 By this time it was about noon, and darkness fell across the whole land until three o’clock. 45 The light from the sun was gone. And suddenly, the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn down the middle. 46 Then Jesus shouted, “Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands!” And with those words he breathed his last. 47 The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, “Surely this was a righteous man.”

Sermon Slides: Images and Quotes

John 11:32-35. When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”

When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. 34 “Where have you laid him?” he asked. “Come and see, Lord,” they replied. 35 Jesus wept.

“Blessed are those who mourn,” for not only will they be comforted, but they are the comfort the world needs most.

Luke 19:41. “As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace.”

The thing that will bring us peace will not be arriving on November 3rd regardless of how you vote. The only thing that will bring us peace is Christ and His Kingdom. Jesus and His way.

Mourning demands that we live differently. Hatred makes no such demand, but hatred takes up so much energy that it feels like we’ve taken action. It’s very deceiving in that way.

Dawn to Dusk - Lyrics

Dawn to Dusk

Lord as we turn to You
Come free us from our sin
We only have today
So let us now begin

From dawn to dusk
We’re waking up
From dawn to dusk
We’re waking up

Tomorrow’s freedom is today’s surrender
We come before You lay our burden’s down
We look to You as our hearts remember
You are the only God
You are our only God

Lord as we give You more
Your Spirit swells within
‘Cause You are holy, holy Lord
So let us now begin

From dawn to dusk
We’re waking up
From dawn to dusk
We’re waking up

Tomorrow’s freedom is today’s surrender
We come before You lay our burden’s down
We look to You as our hearts remember
You are the only God
You are our only God

Tomorrow’s freedom is today’s surrender
We come before You lay our burden’s down
We look to You as our hearts remember
You are the only God
You are our only God

Riverside - Lyrics

Riverside

I’m gonna lay down my burden
Down by the riverside
Down by the riverside

I’m gonna lay down my sword and shield
Down by the riverside
Down by the riverside

I’m gonna study war no more
Gonna study war no more
I’m gonna study war no more

I’m gonna lay down my burden
Down by the riverside
Down by the riverside

I’m gonna lay down my guns and steel
Down by the riverside
Down by the riverside

I’m gonna study war no more
Gonna study war no more
I’m gonna study war no more

I’m gonna study war no more
Gonna study war no more
I’m gonna study war no more

I won’t study war (x4)

I’m gonna lay down my burden
Down by the riverside
Down by the riverside

I’m gonna lay down my sword and shield
Down by the riverside
Down by the riverside
