Current Sermon / Series
1 Corinthians 15
1 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8 and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born….
12 But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith… 19 If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.
20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him.

SONG LYRICS
Title: Your Love Awakens Me
There were walls between us
And by the cross you came
And broke them down
You broke them down
And there were chains around us
And by Your grace we are
No longer bound
No longer bound
You called me out of the grave
You called me into the light
You called my name and then
my heart came alive
Your love is greater
Your love is stronger
Your love awakens
Awakens – Awakens me
(repeat)
Feel the darkness shaking
All the dead are coming
Back to life
Back to life
Hear the song awaken
All creation singing
We’re alive
Cause You’re alive
You called me out of the grave
You called me into the light
You called my name and then
my heart came alive
Your love is greater
Your love is stronger
Your love awakens
Awakens – Awakens me
(repeat)
And what a love we found
Death can’t hold us down
We shout it out
We’re alive
Cause you’re alive
(repeat 2x)
Your love is greater
Your love is stronger
Your love awakens
Awakens – Awakens me
(repeat)
Title: Come Thou long expected Jesus
Come Thou long expected Jesus
Born to set Thy people free
From our fears and sins release us
Let us find our rest in Thee
Israel’s Strength and Consolation
Hope of all the earth Thou art
Dear Desire of every nation
Joy of every longing heart
Born Thy people to deliver
Born a child and yet a King
Born to reign in us forever
Now Thy gracious kingdom bring
By Thine own eternal Spirit
Rule in all our hearts alone
By Thine all sufficient merit
Raise us to Thy glorious throne
Come Thou long expected one
Make all things new oh Christ the Son
Come Thou long expected one
Make all things new oh Christ the Son
(repeat)
Come Thou long expected Jesus
Born to set Thy people free
Title: So Will I
God of creation
There at the start
Before the beginning of time
With no point of reference
You spoke to the dark
And fleshed out the wonder of light
And as You speak
A hundred billion galaxies are born
In the vapor of Your breath the planets form
If the stars were made to worship
so will I
I can see Your heart
in everything You’ve made
Every burning star
A signal fire of grace
If creation sings Your praises
so will I
God of Your promise
You don’t speak in vain
No syllable empty or void
For once You have spoken
All nature and science
Follow the sound of Your voice
And as You speak
A hundred billion creatures catch Your breath
Evolving in pursuit of what You said
If it all reveals Your nature
so will I
I can see Your heart
in everything You say
Every painted sky
A canvas of Your grace
If creation still obeys You
so will I
If the stars were made to worship so will I
If the mountains bow in reverence so will I
If the oceans roar Your greatness so will I
For if everything exists to lift You high so will I
If the wind goes where You send it so will I
If the rocks cry out in silence so will I
If the sum of all our praises still falls shy
Then we’ll sing again a hundred billion times
God of salvation
You chased down my heart
Through all of my failure and pride
On a hill You created
The light of the world
Abandoned in darkness to die
And as You speak
A hundred billion failures disappear
Where You lost Your life so I could find it here
If You left the grave behind You
so will I
I can see Your heart
in everything You’ve done
Every part designed in a work of art called love
If You gladly chose surrender
so will I
I can see Your heart
Eight billion different ways
Every precious one
A child You died to save
If You gave Your life to love them
so will I
Like You would again
a hundred billion times
But what measure could amount to Your desire
You’re the One who never leaves the one behind
Title: Holy Spirit
There’s nothing worth more
That could ever come close
No thing can compare
You’re our living hope
Your presence, Lord
I’ve tasted and seen
Of the sweetest of loves
Where my heart becomes free
And my shame is undone
Your presence, Lord
Holy Spirit, You are welcome here
Come flood this place
and fill the atmosphere
Your glory, God, is what
our hearts long for
To be overcome by Your presence, Lord
There’s nothing worth more
That could ever come close
No thing can compare
You’re our living hope
Your presence, Lord
I’ve tasted and seen
Of the sweetest of loves
Where my heart becomes free
And my shame is undone
Your presence, Lord
Holy Spirit, You are welcome here
Come flood this place
and fill the atmosphere
Your glory, God, is what
our hearts long for
To be overcome by Your presence, Lord
Let us become more aware
of Your presence
Let us experience the glory
of Your goodness
(repeat)
Holy Spirit, You are welcome here
Come flood this place
and fill the atmosphere
Your glory, God, is what
our hearts long for
To be overcome by Your presence, Lord
Title: God With Us
Well You’ve come to bring peace,
To be love, to be nearer to us;
Well You’ve come to bring life,
To be light to shine brighter in us
Oh Emmanuel
God with us
Our deliverer, You are Savior
In Your presence we find our strength
Over everything, our redemption
God with us
You are God with us
Well You’ve come to be hope
To be a shield for Your honor and name
Well You’ve come to take sin,
To bear shame, and to conquer the grave
Oh Emmanuel
God with us
Our deliverer, You are Savior
In Your presence we find our strength
Over everything, our redemption
God with us
You are God with us
You are here, you are holy,
We are standing in your glory
(repeat x4)
Lord
Our deliverer, You are Savior
In Your presence we find our strength
Over everything, our redemption
God with us
Our deliverer, You are Savior
In Your presence we find our strength
Over everything, our redemption
God with us
You are God with us
Oh God with us
You are God with us
Title: Shepherd’s Song
This begins with a breath
From the waters you were blessed
Pushing through the pain and blood
Into the arms of love
And your mother’s face above
Before you came she was afraid
In the night she cried and prayed
Oh God am I strong enough,
To be the arms of love
To be the mother of this son
O Beautiful one
My child my son
We rejoice
From generation to generation
We rejoice
And magnify the Lord
All like sheep have gone astray
But you will call them back one day
By the marks of pain and blood
Back to the arms of love
The good Father’s face above
O Beautiful one
My child my son
We rejoice
From generation to generation
We rejoice
O Beautiful one
My child my son
We rejoice
From generation to generation
We rejoice
We rejoice
We rejoice
We rejoice
