Current Sermon / Series

Matthew 5:31

31 “It has been said, ‘Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’ 32 But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Matthew 19:3-9

3 Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?”
4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
7 “Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”
8 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.

      Family Month starts July 1st

Each year in July we take a month off of Children’s Ministry to give our volunteers a break and, more importantly, to have some fun as a family. Just like last year, we’ll be doing another series called Illustrated Compassion, and just like last year, there will be coloring pages for everyone including the adults! Each Sunday after worship, the fun will continue with lunch and a family-friendly community wide event. The tentative schedule is:

Connekkt Youth • Wednesday Night Bashes

The Bazers are once again hosting summertime Wednesday Night Bashes for rising 6th graders up through recent grads. It’s a evening of fun, games, eating and hanging out with friends new and old. It takes place at their home (3809 Sparrow Pond Lane, Raleigh) from 7-10pm the following Wednesday nights: June 20, June 27, July 11 & July 18.

      Guatemala 2018 • August 19-25

If you’ve never heard of our global ministries partner, Lemonade International, take a moment today to watch their introductory video on our web site. But I need to warn you: it is powerful and moving.

Our 2018 Mission Team is gearing up for their first team meeting, but there is still time and space for another team member or two to join us. The trip is from August 19-25. If you are interested, please contact Pastor Curtis (this year’s team leader). He would love to hear from you.
