Below are five foundational values that shape who we are and how we live as a community. These values are not exhaustive, but they reflect our commitments as followers of Jesus.
WELCOME
Having experienced God’s extraordinary grace, we extend that same unmerited love to everyone we encounter. Together we are deeply committed to justice and to recognizing the dignity and divinity of ALL persons regardless of background or identity. We aim to be a community where everyone feels genuinely seen, heard, and valued as beloved children of God, recognizing that the table of Christ has room for all.
AUTHENTICITY
We create space for genuine questions and honest struggles, knowing that “because the Bible says so” is an inadequate answer. Our church embraces thoughtful faith that engages our community with charity and humility.
PARTNERSHIP
We believe in joining God in the work He’s already doing—bringing His Kingdom to bear upon this world. We collaborate with organizations making meaningful differences in our community and beyond, channeling our resources to amplify their impact.
HUMILITY
We approach both scripture and each other with teachable spirits, holding convictions with charity. We prioritize listening over pronouncing, serving over being served, and consider the needs of others as important as our own.
GENEROSITY
Following the early church’s example, we pour ourselves out on behalf of the world around us through radical generosity. We commit a quarter of our offerings to outside causes, embodying Jesus’ example of sacrificial giving with our time, talents, and resources.
These statements—rooted in the church’s ancient creeds—express our core theological convictions. We embrace them all, but with humility and wonder, acknowledging that faith’s deepest truths will always transcend our complete understanding.
GOD
The universe’s creator and sustainer exists eternally as three equal persons: Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:13-17).
JESUS CHRIST
Fully divine, Jesus entered humanity, lived without fault, and sacrificed himself on the cross. His resurrection conquered evil, sin and death before his return to heaven (Ephesians 2:1-9). Jesus reveals God’s nature and character most completely (Colossians 1:15).
HOLY SPIRIT
In the mystery of salvation, the Holy Spirit dwells within each believer, bringing spiritual rebirth and empowering a life characterized by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-25).
HUMANITY
Every person, without exception, is profoundly loved by God. Full stop. (1 John 4:8-10).
SALVATION
Through Jesus Christ, we receive forgiveness and abundant life, both now and eternally (John 10:10). This is God’s gift, not earned through our efforts or achievements (John 3:16-18).
THE BIBLE
The scriptures were written by human authors guided by the Holy Spirit’s inspiration. It is sufficient to guide, teach, correct, and equip believers for life (2nd Timothy 3:16-17).
THE RETURN OF JESUS
Jesus will return to complete his work of restoration, making all creation new and setting all things to rights (Romans 8:18-23).
Our church family comes from many different denominational traditions and backgrounds. While we possess a diversity of thought, together we are deeply committed to justice and to recognizing the dignity and divinity of all. We create a loving community where family happens—never perfect, but certainly good—less about “agreeing on all disputed matters” and far more about “regarding each other’s needs as one’s own.”
