Current Series

Matthew 1:1-17

1 This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah the son of David, the son of Abraham:

2 Abraham was the father of Isaac,
Isaac the father of Jacob,
Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers,
3 Judah the father of Perez and Zerah, whose mother was Tamar,
Perez the father of Hezron,
Hezron the father of Ram,
4 Ram the father of Amminadab,
Amminadab the father of Nahshon,
Nahshon the father of Salmon,
5 Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab,
Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth,
Obed the father of Jesse,
6 and Jesse the father of King David.
David was the father of Solomon, whose mother had been Uriah’s wife,
7 Solomon the father of Rehoboam,
Rehoboam the father of Abijah,
Abijah the father of Asa,
8 Asa the father of Jehoshaphat,
Jehoshaphat the father of Jehoram,
Jehoram the father of Uzziah,
9 Uzziah the father of Jotham,
Jotham the father of Ahaz,
Ahaz the father of Hezekiah,
10 Hezekiah the father of Manasseh,
Manasseh the father of Amon,
Amon the father of Josiah,
11 and Josiah the father of Jeconiah and his brothers at the time of the exile to Babylon.
12 After the exile to Babylon:
Jeconiah was the father of Shealtiel,
Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel,
13 Zerubbabel the father of Abihud,
Abihud the father of Eliakim,
Eliakim the father of Azor,
14 Azor the father of Zadok,
Zadok the father of Akim,
Akim the father of Elihud,
15 Elihud the father of Eleazar,
Eleazar the father of Matthan,
Matthan the father of Jacob,
16 and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, and Mary was the mother of Jesus who is called the Messiah.

17 Thus there were fourteen generations in all from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the Messiah.

      Ugly Christmas Sweater Party! (12/10)

I (Curtis) am SUPER excited to host the 4th installment of our annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Party! This is potluck style, and so, please bring something to share (mains, sides, heavy hors devours, desserts, etc). Join us December 10 at 246 Crown Oaks Drive (N. Raleigh). And remember, there are PRIZES for best (or is it worst?) dressed. Can’t wait to see you there!

The Polar Express – Community Event (12/18)

Due to a wrestling tournament hosted at ADHS, we had to shift the date of our upcoming community event from Saturday to Sunday. This will be our 3rd Annual Polar Express movie event, and it’s poised to be every bit as beautiful as our previous efforts, if not more so!

Like last year, this year’s event is truly a joint effort with our host school. The night will include special performances by the Athens Drive High School drum line, chorus, and theater department! Additionally, we’re providing food/drinks before the movie, popcorn, and photos with a “real” Santa for every family who comes!

To make this all happen, once again we will need your help. Sign up today!

The Polar Express – Community Event (12/18)

Together with the faculty at Athens Drive High School, we are sponsoring 11 families (including 20+ children) who need some help this Christmas season. We launched our Angel Tree initiative last weekend following Thanksgiving, and we were BLOWN AWAY by your resonse!! 46 of the 66 gift-tags have already been claimed.

THANK YOU!! Reminder: please bring your gifts unwrapped to church by December 18 with the identifying tag/number clearly visible.

      Connekkt Youth Goose-Chase Scavenger Hunt

Attention all Middle-School and High-School students! Mark your calendars for Sunday, December 11, for our annual Goose Chase Scavenger Hunt! After church we’ll have a quick bite to eat and then will go off in teams for the scavenger hunt! Afterwards, we’ll end up at the Bazers’ home for a spaghetti dinner. The cost for the event is just $5 and will be used to purchase items for our under-resourced friends in Raleigh.
